Artist Statement

OPENING STATEMENT

Thank you for viewing my work. With age, I am finding words become more and more burdensome.  It took well over 25 years to write an artist statement. In simple terms, if the work captivates you, it is communicating effectively.

ARTIST STATEMENT

In a dream, a white owl came to the window. It allowed me to pet it and I asked, “would you like me to rub your feathery ears like a cat’s ear?”

“Yes, I would like that very much”, it replied.

Then it added, “perhaps, someone who searches for a utopian place is much like the wind moving about without purpose. And yet in this house, there are a multitude of rooms beyond the oscillation of time where the sun radiates out from silent waters, and where thoughts weave a new song — a home where light sings a beautiful melody, and where a water reflection has no shadows.”
